Much has happened during this time before Christmas. Copenhagen causes quite a stir. A strong earthquake shook the Earth in Portugal. One of the questions that come to mind to many of us: "Is the human race about to wake up or is humanity unerringly heading towards its downfall?"
Today is the day of winter solstice. We celebrate the longest night and experience the shortest day of the year. Solstice rituals have old roots. Particularly the Kelts and the Germanic and Slawonic peoples celebrated this time in pre-christian times. It was a time to be especially aware of the activities of the Earth and people attributed a lot of meaning to these turning points within the year. For centuries these old customs were faught against and efforts to eradicate them were made. However, this did not succeed, the people stuck to their traditions and rituals. Hence, the celebrations and customs were given a Christian meaning. The old Germanic Yule at winter solstice, which celebrated the victory of the sun of the darkness, melted into a Christian celebration, namely Christmas, which, on December 25th, honours the birth of Christ.
Today we try to pick up the deeper meaning of these old ritals again and to celebrate them in a contemporary way by engaging our creative spirit and by being in certain awe of the miracle of nature. In Tamera, together with many other groups all over the world, we guard a fire of peace. We connect with the great vision of Earth Healing and ask for the ability and power to serve this process in all its aspects. At the same time the day is meant to strengthen our work and our readiness to put ourselves fully into the service of healing the Earth.We love this planet and all its living beings, which, just like us, are longing for peace. In this sense we wish you a blessed celebration and a joyful awakening. May we recognise and accept the responsibility we carry for this Earth.
Many people were inspired by the text of empowerment of last week. I have therefore chosen a further passage out of this Christmas speech I held with the title "A new Marian Cultural Impulse".
Text of Empowerment: The Words of the Child

Many of our Christmas customs, such as the Christmas tree, presents, candles, holly, songs and celebrations, come originally from worship of the Goddess as the mother of the child. It is all about the relationship between mother and son. Another pagan custom also persisted: the belief that on Christmas Eve, at midnight, animals are able to talk. People believed that at the moment when Heaven and Earth, God and Goddess are especially close, something new is born and one can understand the language of all beings, including the language of the animals.
In the story of the Nativity, “The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.” One can also understand from this sentence that the child itself had spoken. Recently I had a dream that was so intense that I wrote it the next morning:
“I dream that I am on a ship. It is about the construction of the stone circle in Tamera. I have a child on my lap, a baby a few months old. Suddenly the child starts to speak and I can understand its language fully. I am completely astonished and I say “Hey, you can speak!” The child laughs and says “Yes, for those who rediscover their childlike soul, it is easy to understand my language and all languages.” And it continues to explain interrelations of the world, the functional logic between Heaven and Earth, to me. It says “When you rediscover trust amongst humans, logic will change. A completely new logic will be born.”
I am very carefree in this dream and I say “If that is true then I only have to lie down like you, full of trust to see everything clearly, and then all insights will come to me.” My heart becomes light. Happiness spreads inside me together with an anticipation of a new birth. There is a deep feeling in me. Maybe this is what is meant when it is said in the bible: “Unless you change and become like children...”
Sentence of Empowerment: When you rediscover trust amongst humans, logic will change.
