To all Peaceworkers,
We are now in the process of getting used to civilization again, after the moving days in Mulatos, in Colombia's rainforest.
There are dramatic impressions that our souls have to digest now.
We thank the people of the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó for their absolutely unusual and courageous efforts. We met people who live day by day under life threat and nevertheless find the depth and steadiness to develop alternatives that will enable them to leave the system of murder, intrigue and deception.
We seldom met people with so much courage, joy, life, spirit and deep faith in divine guidance.
Rarely have we met people who are so absolutely and unconditionally committed to finding the true source of life, truth and solidarity.
Rarely have we met people with so much joy and spirit of study.
Indigenous people, internationals and campesinos have spent ten days together, sharing their questions, longings, hopes and fears. It was a vibrant university where we shared the necessary knowledge for building self-sufficient villages and communities, in such a way that all of us gained new hope and new courage, even though we are aware that there is still a great risk.
"Our vision cannot die. Even though we know that we can be killed anytime, we still have a vision that sustains us and makes us love life. "
Many of us can learn what it means to be truly radical, a radicalism which is not directed against anyone, but instead decisively says 'Yes' to the development of a new life. The seed of a comprehensive cultural revolution was laid in Mulatos, in simplicity and poverty, but in inner richness. We are full of gratitude that we participated in this adventure of the mind, and could also contribute to its success.

Text of Empowerment: New and dramatic community enterprises
From: Dieter Duhm - The war society and its transformation. From the book: Future without war, Meiga Publishing 2006
To realise peace, we have to know what peace is. We have to learn the rules of trust and love. We are approaching areas, which up to now have been attributed to religion or deep psychology. But is not this exactly the quality of a new way of thinking that includes the realisation that these “inner” realms of the human being have an eminent political meaning? If millions of people die every day of unfulfilled love, of hate and jealousy, is this not a political issue of the first order?
We learn the laws of universal peace by learning the laws of universal community. For all life exists in community. If we want to survive, we need new forms of community: community with people and peoples, with animals and plants, with all beings of nature and Creation. We need communities of co-evolution, of co-operation and mutual support for all participants, because they all follow the same urge of life. All are guided by the One Being, One Consciousness, the One genetic code. All together form the big family of life on earth.
The rediscovery of community, the ability to live communally, and the willingness to cooperate with all beings – these are key tasks of our time.
The well-known biologist Lynn Margulis said it like this:
If we wanted to survive the ecological and social crisis which we have caused, we would have to engage in radically new and dramatic community enterprises.
Power Sentence: All life exists in community.
With best wishes!
