To all Peaceworkers,

This year's GRACE Pilgrimage will end in Tamera, followed by a sponsor meeting for the development of pilot models for Peace Villages worldwide.

The preparations for this are underway in Tamera.

At the same time, Nature sends the most beautiful signals about the ongoing cooperation with her. Only yesterday we witnessed how one of our wild turtles in the "brown pond," a natural biotope for turtles and other animals, was seeking contact with humans. We were a group of eight people. For about fifteen minutes a turtle circled around me, played with me, nudged me gently, dove away, surfaced again to look around curiously, and swam back to the shore with me. For me, the turtle raises memories about the origin of matriarchal cultures. The turtle plays a role in many mythologies about creation, and I once made a comparison between the peace movement and a turtle in a paper about the Movement for a Free Earth. Sometimes, when we think about other social models, it appears to be like a race with time. Will we be successful in setting a field for the development of independent community models, or will centralism continue to prevail, where huge megasystems of solar panels will span the deserts to secure electricity for Europe? Will we be successful in creating signals for change in such a powerful way that people will discover a better and more fulfilling form of life in decentralized models which are based on true cooperation with all beings?

The turtle reminds us that we must not compare our efforts with the fast-moving competitive methods of our times. The change wants to be made completely.

By the Fall, the first SolarVillage "Test Field" will be providing an attractive overview in Tamera of new technologies to motivate future-orientated sponsors to invest in the construction of models to be put up at different key places throughout the world. We will make a pilgrimage for the development of peace models, and all those who wish to participate in the pilgrimage are invited to think with us - think about how all of us can contribute to inform potential sponsors so they become familiar with the ideas and feel motivated to invest their money in ventures going into a new direction.

May we all together participate in investing into a better future for our own children and those of the seven generations thereafter.

One could have the impression that the peace movement is comparable to a turtle who has started a race against a war rocket whose target it is to make the globe a place that is only liveable for very few and to eliminate any “disturbing” powers. The more one realizes how much this global system is already networked. How America, Europe, Russia, banks and multinationals give each other their hands worldwide in order to build up enemy pictures and plan new wars out of economic interests, all of which can be “sold” under the title “War against Terror” to an uninformed public. When we see how panic is thoroughly stirred everywhere so that the feeling of powerlessness grows, when we see all that, initially the resignation grows. It is obvious that on the level of a race the turtle has no chance. I consciously chose this picture in which the comparison seems absurd, but also because it is a mythological picture. In many cultures the turtle is the symbol for Mother Earth and matriarchal cultures. If the turtle really wants to reach the goal faster, when it wants to save the globe and make it inhabitable and the home of all beings, then it must refer back to totally different sources of life and intelligence which do not belong to the rocket, which are able to disclose a knowledge to the turtle which is not available to the system of violence.
