To all Peaceworkers,
We want to focus our attention once more on the Peace Community of San Josesito in Colombia. Four members are presently with us in Tamera.
They are:
Padre Javier Giraldo, supporter of the Peace Community San Josecito
Eduard Lanchero, companion of the padre
Fernando Quiganas, grown up in the Nasa tribe, young leader of the indigenous resistance movement in Colombia
Blanca Torres, San Josecito
Arley Tuberquia, San Josecito
At the present time, the Peace Community is again exposed to heavy attacks that seek to defame the community, rendering us Europeans speechless and putting the entire Peace Community at risk. More Information at: http://www.cdpsanjose.org/ and www.sos-sanjose.org
Those who believe these messages react quite naturally with rage and hatred, which is, of course, the aim of those who put these rumors into the world to destroy the Peace Community.
For many years Tamera has been cooperating with San Josecito, and each year people from Tamera visit the community, for example. We know the people there deeply enough to know that the rumors being spread are the result of a systematic slander campaign. At this point it is important that internationals intervene. We can help with public statements and comments. Are we ready and willing to be touched? We can help.
Today in the Stone Circle we spent the time praying for peace in San Josecito, for the Universidade de Restistencia, and for all peace forces in Colombia. This is done in connection with the inauguration of a new stone, the stone for the protection of indigenous peoples. The cosmogram has been drawn by Fernando, a young representative of the Nasa Indians.
Next to it stands another new stone dedicated to the healing of the United States of America. A group of young Americans, who are part of "Beyond Boundaries" led by Gigi Coyle, are spending a few weeks at Tamera and are working on the cosmogram for the healing of the U.S. The creation of such symbols is the result of a deep internal process. It is very moving to witness the intensity with which these young American citizens are working on a true perspective.
Text of Empowerment:
(from the Calender of the Pilgrimage 2008 in Colmbia)
For us, who dedicate our lives to global peace work, it is not a matter of course that we are spared from being the subject of massacres.
For us, it is not simply a matter of course that we are neither hungry nor suffering from cold. We take the fact that we live in safety as a gift of grace and as a special duty.
As long as we are not among the victims, we will do everything possible so that someday there will be no more victims
I see a new generation of pilgrims from all countries traveling across the earth. They are not bound to any nation, language, race, culture or religion, to riches or possessions. They help in areas of crisis, they visit holy sites and they are on the way to centers, to new anchorages. They encounter each other at campfires, in barns or hostels, share their bread and develop a new quality of community, hospitality and willingness to help.
This development is supported by the emergence of completely new centers spreading slowly across the earth.
We call them Healing Biotopes or Peace Villages.
Sentence of Empowerment: We dedicate our lives to global peacework
With best wishes
