HOPI MESSAGE
The Hopi are praying for the people of Japan and for the people around the world as we face crisis in our world out of balance.
We are all in a time of great change upon mother earth and these events have been foretold by our Elders. Through our Prophecies and our Ceremonies the sacred land of this earth is now crying. And our children are looking to Hopi to balance life for their future.
Our Elders have given us guidance for how to move through these changes. Humanity is now choosing the path upon which all life will follow and we have known this time would come.
As Hopi, we ask you to join us in prayer to balance mother earth and all life. We believe that, through our prayers and that if we pray with good hearts as told by our Elders, we can lessen the impact of these events.
We as Hopi join our prayers with those of the Dalai Lama along with people from around the world to send healing to Japan, the earth and all life. In this time of change, we ask all the people of the world to return to a more balanced way of life.
Hopi say there is a path to follow that allows for us to move through this time of change. Walk gently upon our earth with respect for her and all life. A return to connecting our heart with the heart of the path to the future.
Join your hearts to Hopi in honoring our Mother Earth by planting gardens, respecting our Sacred life giving waters and all life for future generations of our children.

From the Experience of the Mega Earthquakes in Japan

We, Konohana Family think of this earthquake is a beginning of the end of the past lifestyle which dominated by money and technologies that consume excessive natural resource. Japan has achieved the status as an economic leader in the world while we have certain spirituality which lives in harmony with nature. We tend to get panic when a big incident happens; however, we create the cause of them in our daily life. This earthquake and the incident of the nuclear power station make people in Japan and the world realize the power of nature, preciousness of life, and what the most important things for human life are. Then, people help each other and do volunteering. However, most of them had not done it before in their daily life. By now, life was based on making one’s happiness come true. In that context, electricity consumption was big part of it, and that have led to the nuclear power generation. However, we are the part of nature, and if we look the earth as one life form, this world is the same as us. So, we must be able to love us as we love others. Let’s make the world with this thought. We can take this happening not only as a tragedy, but also big learning opportunity, and utilize the experience to a next step. Utilize means that the lost lives live in our lives. We must be receiving big and significant messages in order to make a next world. The most important thing is to commune with each other in daily life, not only for a special occasion. As Prince Shotoku stated “Harmonizing Ourselves Comes First”, we, Japanese have that kind of spirit. That is why we are given this phenomenon and we can turn this opportunity to show the real harmonious world that is different from the current civilization to the world. We do not have fear, but we feel the significance of the death of so many people. So, it is important to humbly accept the message from the earthquakes rather than fomenting disorder.
What we feel in the current Ecovillage movement is that missing the spirit of humbly receiving and being utilized by the will of the earth. However, this is not a criticism to deny people who do not do that. They are also a part of diversity. So, we work together with them for whatever we can do for the entire being because difference in diversity creates a lot of possibilities. If each individual think of the world and think of others in the given circumstance, we will be able to make a harmonious world.
As Mother Teresa said, “Whatever the small things you do, if you do it with love, it gives pleasure and brings peace to people’s heart. It is important how much love you can put in rather than what you do”, if we really think of others, we can convey love and peace. That is what we do here. We have a role to connect to the future by demonstrating the possibility that human beings can communicate each other and live with love.
In Japanese, we say Thank you as “Arigatou Gozaimasu”. Arigatou means “it is difficult to exist” and Gozaimas means “to be/have”. In every moment, we face difficulty of survival. In another word, we are always living in miracle.

The news of the death of our friend Teet there in Tamera fills us with inmense pain. Sometimes I feel that there are people who, when they have come to their ripe time, which is not necessarily age, are called by God Mother and Father of Life, called to live already now their Fullness, their definite transformation.
From here in Madrid, with a big wish to have been able to be there again this year, but which because of different circumstances has been very difficult; but with the heart accompanying you, continuing the Path of those who with the full power of tenderness, of love know that it is the only path... the path of solidarity, the path of service to Life, Freedom and Justice, to love...a power capable of remaking life there where death wants to impose us its pains, diseases, the loss of perspective and of hope...
Thank you for all of the strength we feel flowing from that biotope of life, that enriches and gives strength to those who connect to it to continue deconstructing those personal and social mental schemes that don´t allow free relationships... Thank you for the testimony of accompanying and solidarity in Palestine, San Jose´ de Apartado´... Thank you for all the tenderness in the reconnection with PACHAMAMA, and especially for showing us that it is possible to materialize this other alternative world...

I found this to be very interesting as I looked for more information on the Barrick Mining/ Pascua Lama initiative in Chile/ Argentina.
Perhaps next year's pilgrimage? I hove some very motivated friends in Cajamarca, Peru who have suffered greatly at the hands of another US mining corporation, Newmont Mining of Colorado...they would get involved, I think.

About truth and transparency
Some days ago I participated in a workshop lead by Sabine Lichtenfels and Benjamin von Mendelssohn from the peace village Tamera in Portugal. The issue of the workshop was peace between the genders. The community in Portugal tries to build a social model where love trust touch transparency and the ability of the individual to live his personal truth is the base of the community life. From the workshop I came with the fullrecognition that truth love trust and transparency must be the base of any kind of relationship – between couples, groups or a whole society. I was also convinced that you can't do it by yourself. You must have a supportive circle to implement this sacred principles.
But these principles will not be enough if we won't find a higher and wider vision. What is our vision? Is it another war? Is it going again the same way that we did for thousand of years? Or is it time for us to dare and go for peace? To dare building another society that will be based on trust and love and not on fear and compulsive need of security. When I was a child we didn't lock the house door. Today when I put my car in nature I always pray that the car will be there when I am back. In this letter I call everyone of us to help to build a society that is based on love trust and transparency. And we all should start with ourselves.

Last year was very hard, and we hope this year will be better, God willing.
Last year we had many hundreds of visitors in our home, I thank God for adding more people to my family.
